3D visuals? How about gameplay? Once upon a time, on an older generation of machines, a game that was somewhat heavy-handed in its dialogue or story might be enjoyable, but not likely a gripping experience. More recently, games with a storyline more suited to the medium could be heavy on visuals and light on gameplay. In this case, the story of Medieval Times: A Place of Worship is a medieval fable. The storyline is mostly silly, though some parts, like the ability to mix and match words and do other games in languages other than the standard English, are clever. The gameplay can be described as being like that of a quiz show in that you get a question that has to be completed in the time remaining. In addition, there are mini games. The game is a decent distraction, but it does not really add anything to the gameplay.
To be fair, this is one of the first games I have played that is at least a hybrid between a strategy and quiz show game. Having played a handful of strategy/quiz show games (most notably, Jeopardy!), I can say that this is the best. It is great to be able to play a real quiz show game with strategy and learning integrated into it, and I haven't seen any other game that comes close to it. However, for gamers who want more of a quiz game, it's not that great.
After the launch of Mario Kart: Double Dash!!, the next Mario Kart game was built around the new Super Mario Galaxy physics engine. While the game uses new aspects of the engine, it is a natural sequel to Mario Kart Wii, so, for the most part, it is easy to get right into the action. However, the courses from the first game, which have had slight modifications, make them slightly more difficult
